Application Deadline – Friday, March 14, 2008
Students can apply to STARS by completing the following application and submitting a complete application package to the Office of Graduate Studies. A complete application package includes:
- Personal Profile
- Personal Statement
- Faculty Research Interests
- Identify the department and three faculty mentors with whom you would like to work and describe the research interests for your selection.
- Click on http://ogs.ucsd.edu/admissions/programs and search the department homepages and faculty information.
- If you do not find the faculty or information you are looking for, contact the graduate coordinator for the department in which you are interested. Please note faculty are frequently not available during the summer session however we will make every attempt to match you with one of your faculty preferences as a mentor.
- Two (2) Letters of Recommendation from faculty (please have faculty recommend you for this research experience and describe your potential as a research scholar).
- A copy of current Academic Transcripts

After completing the application, click "SUBMIT" and you will receive a confirmation and a copy of your submitted application. Please email us if you have any changes to your application.
Applicants who are selected to participate in the summer program will be notified of a conditional acceptance pending mentor/lab placement. Once accepted as a research intern by your faculty mentor, a final acceptance and enrollment form will be sent.
