Students enrolled in undergraduate programs and interested in pursuing graduate studies at UCSD can participate in programs through the AGEP program. Prospective students can participate in our summer research program, receive advice about graduate school, or connect with UCSD through the Diversity Outreach Collaboration.
Summer Research Program
UCSD AGEP offers an eight-week summer research program in a UCSD
laboratory. The program is part of the Summer Training
Academy for Research in the Sciences (STARS) and is open to eligible
undergraduate and masters level students attending any college or
university.

UCSD Graduate Program Preparation Advice and Application
Assistance
A clear understanding of UCSD programs and the admissions application
process can improve your application and enhance your likelihood of
admission. Information is available on the UCSD website at
http://gradschool.ucsd.edu.
As well, you may contact us via
gradconnect@ucsd.edu or (858) 534-3678.
Prospective graduate students are encouraged to sign up at the UCSD Graduate Interest Registration (http://gsir.ucsd.edu) site to provide departments with their academic and personal information before the application review.
Connect with UCSD through the Diversity Outreach Collaboration
UCSD AGEP develops partnerships with university graduate preparation
programs through the Diversity Outreach Collaboration
(DOC). Application fee waivers are available for students who
are/were participants in LSAMP, CAMP, IMSD, IRT, MARC, MASEM, MBRS,
McNair, MIRT, NIH SCHOLARS, PROJECT 1000, REU, RIMI, SRISP, STARS, SURF,
and UC LEADS during their undergraduate studies. DOC works with
programs and academic departments at partner campuses to set up
presentations and visits to encourage underrepresented students to
consider graduate studies at UCSD. Faculty, graduate students and staff
present information about graduate programs, graduate school
preparation, and the graduate school application process. Visits are
made to partner campuses and arrangements are made for interested
students to interact with UCSD faculty and graduate students in their
proposed areas of study.
