Class will meet 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM, Tuesday and Thursdays, June 23– July 24, 2009

Pre-Test
Tues., June 23

Class 2 Pepper Canyon 109
Verbal Basics
Thurs., June 25
Strategies for sentence completion, analogies and antonyms will be covered along with vocabulary building.

Class 3 CLICS Library
Verbal Lab (optional for students with a verbal score of 700+ on the test)
Tues., June 30
Students will practice problem sets from the verbal section on the computer and have the opportunity to works with the instructor to reinforce test-taking strategies.

Class 4 Pepper Canyon 109
Quantitative Reasoning Basics
Thurs., July 2
Strategies for optimum performance on the quantitative section will be covered, including techniques for managing quantitative comparison and problem solving.

Class 5 CLICS Library
Quantitative Reasoning Lab (optional for students with a math score of 700+ on the test)
Tues., July 7
Students will practice problem sets from the quantitative section on the computer and have the opportunity to work with the instructor to address weaknesses and reinforce test-taking strategies.

Critical Thinking and Analytical Writing – Part 1
Thurs., July 9
Introduction to effective essay writing under timed conditions. Breakdown of the analysis of an issue and analysis of an argument format employed by the GRE.

Class 7 CLICS Library
Reading Comprehension and Data Analysis
Tues., July 14
Strategies for improving performance on reading comprehension and data analysis will be addressed in the computer lab since these are the sections that differ most from paper to computer testing.

Class 8 Pepper Canyon 109
Critical Thinking & Analytical Writing – Part 2
Thurs., July 16
Examination of student writing samples and review of essay writing techniques.

Class 9 CLICS Library
Post-Test (mandatory for all students)
Tues., July 21
Students will take the GRE post-test

Class 10 Pepper Canyon 109
Final Review (mandatory for all students)
Thurs., Jul 23
Comprehensive review of all GRE test-taking strategies and post-test results.
