Expectations
Building community is one of the central goals of GUIDE. With this in mind, the expectations for GUIDE participants are to simply contribute and support our community. This can be accomplished through a variety of channels.

  • Attend quarterly GUIDE events. These activities are requested by your peers. They range from social to academic to professional development. By regularly participating in these various activities, you will help build community with fellow graduate students from across the campus
  • Be a Peer Advocate! By supporting the incoming cohort of GUIDE members, you are providing a valuable model for being a successful graduate student at UCSD. Learn more about GUIDE’s Peer Advocates!
  • Actively Participate in Your Graduate Experience. A healthy graduate experience is a balance of academic and social involvement. There is room for both developing research and your personal relationships. Learning how to navigate through your graduate experience can be a daunting challenge, but it’s definitely not impossible.
