Basic Admissions Information

For specific admissions requirements, contact the department using the information above.

Admissions Term Fall quarter admission only.
GRE GRE general test required.
GRE Subject Test GRE subject test recommended.
TOEFL or IELTS Exam The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is required for international applicants whose native language is not English and who have not studied full-time for one uninterrupted year at a university-level institution in a country where English is the official language.
Letters of Recommendation Three (3) letters of recommendation required. Accepts online letters of recommendation ONLY.
Statement of Purpose Requirements

Accepts only the online Statement of Purpose
(2500 word limit)

Specific Program Requirements The Department does not enroll students who seek a Masters degree as a terminal degree.

Quantitative Score: 740
Analytical Score: 4.0

Undergraduate GPA
Undergraduate GPA: 3.5 minimum on 4.0 scale. For international applicants, equivalencies will be determined.

TOEFL Exam Minimum Scores - International Applicants Only
Paper based test score: 597
Computer based test score: 247
Internet based test score: 98
Writing samples are optional. Writing samples, if submitted, must be emailed directly to the department as a PDF attachment.
