Your application will NOT be considered unless a Pre-Application has been approved by the department
GRE GRE general test required.
GRE Subject Test GRE subject test not required.
TOEFL or IELTS Exam The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is required for international applicants whose native language is not English and who have not studied full-time for one uninterrupted year at a university-level institution in a country where English is the official language.

  1. Summarize the long term goals of research in which you participated.
  2. Describe one research problem, project or area for graduate study that excites you. Have you thought about what you want to accomplish in graduate school and how is UCSD a good match for these goals?
