The Department of Bioengineering has an NIH Training Grant from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute on Cardiovascular Engineering Science. The Department of Bioengineering participates in a new interdisciplinary graduate training program at the interfaces between the biological, medical, physical and engineering sciences. UCSD is one of ten universities selected through the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) to initiate this new program.
